China increases exports to Georgia

China has exported 34,387 tons of flat-rolled products of non-alloy steel to Georgia worth of $25.2 million from January through October 2019, which is 5,318 tons less compared the same period last year, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, China exported 3,907 tons of air conditioning machines worth $21.4 million to Georgia. This is while, over the same period last year, 2,915 tons of air conditioning machines totaling $17 million were exported from China to Georgia.

Meanwhile, 7,509 tons of new pneumatic tyres worth $18 million were exported from China to Georgia. This is 1,589 tons more compared the same period last year.

During the reporting period, China exported 285,3 tons of automatic data processing machines and units thereof in the amount of $17.8 million to Georgia. During the first 10 months of 2018, export of automatic data processing machines and units thereof from China to Georgia amounted to 349,4 tons totaling $39.6 million.

At the same time, China exported 13,434 tons of polyacetals and epoxide resins, and other polyesters in primary forms worth $15.9 million to Georgia.

China ranks third in Georgia’s commodity circulation.

From January through October 2019 the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and China amounted to more than $871.7 million, which is 8.4 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $150.5 million to the Chinese market, which is 5 percent of total exports.

Meanwhile, China exported products worth $721.2 million to the Georgian market, which is 9.8 percent of total exports.
