Gold extraction plant to be created in Kazakhstan's Kostanay

Gold leaching and extraction plant worth $25 million will be constructed in Zhetikara district of Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region, Head of the District Abay Ibrayev said, Trend reports with reference to Alau informational portal.

According to Ibrayev, the construction of a plant, which will create 300 new work places, will start next year.

“The investor has already been selected. As agreed, a loan to a second tier bank will be allocated by the investor,” Ibrayev said.

The plant is expected to be put into operation in 2021.

Ibrayev also noted that the gold ore extraction the Zhetikara district increased by a million ton this year, which is 52 percent more than the average extracted volume. Furthermore, major projects also will be implemented in other sectors of economy.

According to the head of the region, one of these projects is the construction of a feedlot, the capacity of which will be 10,000 animals of cattle.

He noted that the implementation of the project will take three years and the full capacity will be reached in 2025. Commissioning of the project will create 30 new work places. The final decision on the implementation of the project is to be made next year.
