As of October 1, 2019, some 21 percent of labor migrants from Kazakhstan (4,433 people) looked for job in China, making the country the leading destination for labor migrants from Kazakhstan, a representative of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population told Trend.
According to the representative of the ministry, second and third most popular destination for Kazakh labor migrants are Uzbekistan and India where 2,320 and 1,837 people went looking for a job (11 percent and nine percent respectively).
Furthermore, Turkey and United Kingdom are also among TOP-5 most popular destinations for Kazakh labor migrants (1,837 people and 1,449 people respectively).
Number of Kazakhs looking for job in Turkey, India and United Kingdom has also significantly increased compared to 2018, where 1,809 people, 1,701 people and 1,424 people went looking for job in 2018.
Thus, 40 percent of Kazakhstan’s labor migrants find job in construction. Some 11 percent account for mining and quarrying industry, 8 percent of agriculture, fishery and forestry, 8 percent for professional, scientific and technical activities and 7 percent account for processing industry.
