Value of Iran’s non-oil exports from South Khorasan Province down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. The value of Iran’s non-oil exports from South Khorasan Province in the north-east of the country, decreased by 20 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Head of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of South Khorasan Province, Hamid Hassan Nejad told Tahlilbazaar information portal, Trend reports.

According to Hassan Nejad, $65 million worth of non-oil products were exported from the province in 8 months.

“In total, the value of non-oil exports through the customs of South Khorasan Province for 8 months amounted to $320 million, which is 20 percent less than in the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

The official also added that ceramics, light hydrocarbons, diesel, cement and others were the main exported non-oil products from the province.

Moreover, $5 million worth of goods were imported to the province in 8 months, which is a decrease of 61 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, Hassan Nejad noted.

He said that some agricultural products, including rice, and cotton were the main imported goods within the mentioned period.

“Within 8 months, 81,000 tons of cargo by 2,848 trucks were transited from Russia, India, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and Türkiye to Afghanistan through the South Khorasan Province. This is an increase of 34 percent in the number of trucks and 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year,” Hassan Nejad pointed out.
