Date determined for announcing results of IFC monitoring on energy efficiency in Azerbaijani companies

International Finance Corporation (IFC) plans to hold a presentation on May 20, which will announce the results of monitoring of the status of energy efficiency in Azerbaijan, IFC Baku office said on May 15. IFC General Manager for Energy Efficiency Brian Tate, and consultants - experts from Russia, who will share their experiences of implementing sustainable development programs and funding for energy savings, arrived in Baku to attend the event.

The studies involved about 100 Azerbaijani companies.

In 2005 IFC launched a program to stimulate investment in energy efficiency. The program is designed to help finance projects aimed at improving energy efficiency.

The program consists of two parts: the investment direction and advice.

Under the investment component, the IFC provides credit lines to banks and leasing companies, which, in turn, fund specific projects in the field of energy.

Consulting and training support includes: individual consulting on financial, legal and technical issues, as well as workshops on investing in energy-efficient technologies.
