Reduction in the volume of transit of the Caspian oil to the Mediterranean area is temporarily, Vice President of the KazMunayGaz Daniyar Berlibayev told Trend .

"I think that the reduction via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is due to season reasons. No sharp reduction of oil transit to the Mediterranean area has been observed," Berlibayev said.

This reduction has caused by many reason, including transport expenses.

"Oil is a liquid that is flowing to a place it is much paid for. It founds way to market itself," the Vice President said.

The oil transit of the first quarter of this year showed that the transit to the Mediterranean area is hardly competing with the Black Sea area.

Russia stepped up the shipment of Caspian oil through its transport capacity.
While the Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan oil pipeline is considered as an alternative to transit through Russia.
