Azerbaijan plans to supply gas in the amount of 10 billion cubic meters to the European market in 2017-18, the Head of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said at the third Conference of the World Gas Infrastructure for the Caspian Sea in Baku on Wednesday.
He said that a number of pipeline projects supplying Azerbaijani gas to Europe are under consideration. These projects are ITGI, TAPI and Nabucco. There are also options considered for the supply of liquefied natural gas to Romania, and compressed to Bulgaria, he said.
Abdullayev said that work is underway on coordinating a gas agreements package with Turkey. He expressed the hope that these negotiations will be finalized and wrapped up in the near future.
The outcome of negotiations with the Turkish side may condition the supply of up to 2 billion cubic meters of gas to the European market by 2017 through a small regional gas pipelines, he said.
