Kazakhstan, Astana, Nov. 9 /Trend D. Mukhtarov /

The issue on unification of railway tariffs, both on domestic and foreign railway lines, remains important for Kazakh coal producers , the Executive Director of the Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises Nicholai Radostovets said in interview to Trend.

"The issue on unification of railway tariffs, both on internal and foreign railway lines, remains an important question on the agenda. For years, we held back a decision on the issue on internal roads in the interests of Kazakhstan's economy. Now within the Customs Union we have to create equal conditions for all participants of the union on many product groups. And the Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies jointly with Kazakh manufacturers of mining and mining-metallurgical products are working on this issue, " Radostovets said.

In his opinion, this work should be coordinated with the work of the WTO, because there are many commonalities and differences which should be considered.

"Most of all we are concerned about the tariff for transportation of coal, as 72% of the electricity in Kazakhstan is produced from coal and we are exporting it. We would like to have the same facilities for the transportation of coal, which are applied to the territory of Russia, currently there are local discounts for Russian manufacturers which either need to be cancelled or made equal ," he said.

Radostovets could not specify the desired size of tariffs for transportation of coal on the territory of Russia

"There's a complicated method of tariff calculation, which depends on the ton mileage" he said.
