Level of gas and oil transportation through Kazakh pipelines increased by 13 percent during the 10 months of 2017, compared to the same period of the previous year.
Kazakhstan started to export gas to China on October 16. The amount of the exporting gas is expected to reach 5 billion cubic meters per year, Kazakh Energy Prom reported.
Technical capabilities and throughput of Kazakhstan's gas pipelines allow to export up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
The transit of oil and gas through Kazakh pipelines this year has reversed the negative trend of recent years in a positive direction. In the long-term dynamics, transportation through main pipelines has been declining since 2014. In particular, following the results of 2016, the total volume decreased by 4.1 percent in 2015 (volume of gas transportation by 8.5 percent, oil - by 0.9 percent).
The length of pipelines passing through Kazakhstan in 2017 is 23.270 kilometers. The length of gas pipelines is 15.260 km and the length of oil pipelines is 8.020 km are oil pipelines.
According to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium Kazakhstan is expected to build new oil pipelines on its territory after 2020.
