Iran’s South Pars Gas Company reveals production data of its refinery

The 11th refinery of the South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) has processed more than 13.1 billion cubic meters of gas since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020), Director of 11th Refinery Mohammad Saeedian said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Saeedian noted that the 11th refinery produced 17,000 tons of sulfur and 12 million tons of gas condensate during the reporting period.

The director added that at the same time, more than 257,000 tons of ethane were sent to petrochemical companies.

The 11th refinery of Iran's South Pars Gas Company can produce 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensate, 2,900 tons of LPG gas, 2,750 tons of ethane, 400 tons of sulfur per day.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran has so far spent $90 billion on projects of the South Pars gas field.

Iran extracted 570 million cubic meters of gas per day from this field in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020).

As reported, Iran is currently extracting 700 million cubic meters of gas per day from the gas field.
