BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. The STAR oil refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye has reported an increase in naphtha production, Trend reports.
In October of the current year, the plant produced 122,742 tons of naphtha, reflecting a 0.7 percent increase compared to the 121,931 tons generated during the same period in 2022, according to Türkiye’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
SOCAR Türkiye has ambitious plans to process more than 12 million tons of oil at the STAR refinery by the end of 2023. The production of petrochemical products involves the utilization of crude oil from the Black Sea region, Africa, and several other countries.
The STAR refinery, which commenced operations in October 2018, boasts an annual refining capacity of approximately 10 million tons. Furthermore, the plant has the capability to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day, contributing significantly to the region's petrochemical production landscape.
