Astana, Kazakhstan / corr Trend K.Konirova / Scott Naumann, an expert of the US company ExxonMobil, stated in Astana that by 2030 gas supplies to the world markets will increase mainly from Russia and the Caspian region.

"By 2030 the demand for gas for production of electricity and other requirements will increase in all regions of the world," Naumann stressed. By 2030 a considerable drop in production is expected in West European countries. "To cover the increasing demand, import deliveries via the pipelines will be increased mainly from the Caspian region and Russia," he noted

Azerbaijan has completed the construction of the South Caucasus gas pipeline allocated for gas export from the Shah Deniz field to Georgia and Turkey. At a later stage, following the construction of the TransCaspian gas pipeline and its connection to the SCP, the South Caucasus Pipeline will pump gas from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to the European markets.

The discharge capacity of the TransCaspian gas pipeline will total some 20bln cu m of gas a year.
