The balance of bank loans in Iran increased by 55.5 percent in the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
According to the report, the balance of bank loans amounted to 31 quadrillion rials (about $739 billion) in two months.
The balance of deposits also increased by 47.3 percent within the 2 months compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the balance of bank deposits in Iran amounted to 42 quadrillion rials (about $1 trillion) over the reporting period.
The following table presents the balance of loans, foreign currency deposits of banks and financial institutions for the reported two-month period, according to the official exchange rate ($1=42,000 rials):
