IDB to fund telecommunication project in Turkmenistan

The members of the Board of Executive Directors of the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) have approved funding in the amount of $273 million for the Telecommunication Network Enhancement Project in Turkmenistan

The members of the Board of Executive Directors of the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) have approved funding in the amount of $273 million for the Telecommunication Network Enhancement Project in Turkmenistan, the bank said in a message.

The bank did not reveal any details of the project.

Moreover, the bank approved funding of a number of other development projects in the IDB member countries, such as Turkey, Lebanon, Oman, Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan and etc.

In total, the Board of Executive Directors approved $1.096 billion worth of funding for development projects in various sectors, such as power generation, water supply and sanitation, industry, housing, communications, agriculture, and health.
