Azerbaijan does not intend to use the satellite of Kazakhstan, KazSat, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan. We studied the proposals regarding using this satellite, and came to the conclusion that it is inexpedient to use it due to its tariffs and coverage, the same source stated.
Presently Azerbaijan is carrying out work to purchase its own satellite and is holding negotiations with the International Telecommunication Union.
Presently, Azerbaijan uses the Turkish and European satellites.
The KazSat satellite has been prepared by the Russian State Cosmic Scientific-Production Center.
