S.Babayeva / During a meeting dedicated to the results of the socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2007, Ali Abbasov, the Communications and Information Technology Minister of Azerbaijan, stated that the tasks that use satellite and cable broadcasting has been expanded in Azerbaijan. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev.
According to the Minister, the zone of state television and radio broadcasting is almost 100% of the population and 50-60% of private companies.
Cable television is widely used in the Absheron Peninsula. The technical quality of the air does not meet upgrade standards, which is linked with the financial problems of private companies.
