BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission (PS IGC) TRACECA is preparing terms of reference for the creation of its digital ecosystem within the framework of the concept of digitalization, Trend reports.
It is planned to create a single platform that would bring together all interested TRACECA member countries, carriers, regulatory and other authorities involved in the transportation process.
In addition, it was noted that accelerating digitalization through the creation of some kind of digital platforms would lead to faster electronic verification of documents.
For example, the use of electronic TIR by Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran showed that it is necessary to expand the use of this document in cargo transportation.
It is planned to re-issue maps of the Azerbaijani area of the Caspian Sea, update the electronic map of the Caspian Sea by the Hydrographic Department for ships sailing under the Azerbaijani flag and change the water area of the ports of Azerbaijan.
It is planned to indicate the coordinates of objects under construction on new sea charts.
In addition, this week it was reported that opportunities for transit cargo transportation are expanding in Azerbaijan, multimodal cargo transportation is developing and work is underway to develop container cargo transportation.
It also became known that the Scottish company MacRebur Ltd will start building roads in Azerbaijan in the next few months. About 500,000 tons of non-recyclable plastic waste will be used in the construction.
In accordance with the contract concluded by MacRebur with the National Automobile Club of Azerbaijan (AMAK), it is planned to lay 1,690 kilometers of roads.
