BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 12. The total amount of money sent to Kyrgyzstan via international money transfer systems was $225.1 million, which is a 19.3 percent decrease compared to March 2023 ($279.2 million), Trend reports.

According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, $208 million in transfers came from CIS countries. Transfers from Russia were $207.5 million, Kazakhstan $200 thousand, and other CIS countries $300 thousand.

Transfers from non-CIS countries amounted to $17.1 million, with $5.2 million coming from the US and $1.4 million from Türkiye. Transfers from other non-CIS countries totaled $10.5 million.

Transfers of money to the nation totaled $2.706 billion by late 2023, down 12.3 percent, or $380.4 million, from 2022 levels. Of the total $2.550 billion, the vast majority originated from CIS nations. To be more precise, $16.7 million came from Kazakhstan, while $2.531 billion came from Russia.
