BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. Support for information technology sector development and the digitalization of the economy is growing in Azerbaijan, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Azerbaijan, Nataly Mouravidze told Trend in an exclusive interview this week.
''New tax legislation provides incentives for the IT industry, while capital market development is benefiting from a new digital platform that enables online securities issuance by market participants. We believe that further investment in connectivity, improved legislative and regulatory frameworks for renewable energy, and further investments in the non-oil sector will lead to sustainable diversification of the economy and robust growth in the future,'' she added.
Besides, Azercell has announced plans to launch up to 40 radio stations operating on solar energy this year.
In addition, it was revealed that Azercell’s share in the Azerbaijani market is 48.2 percent.
Azercell also announced its negotiations with service providers to create a more reliable waste management system.
Moreover, Azercell plans to fully integrate digitalization initiatives by 2025.
