Türkiye counts passenger arrivals at Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. The number of passengers arriving at Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir grew by 21 percent year-on-year to 3.15 million in April 2024, Trend reports via the data of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The data also shows that in the reporting month, the airport's passenger turnover for domestic flights increased by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to 2.2 million people, while for international flights it increased by 43 percent and amounted to 939,118 people.

Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover amounted to 41,743 tons, an increase of 22 percent compared to April 2023.

Additionally, the airport's cargo turnover for domestic flights increased by 20 percent in April this year compared to the same month in 2023 and amounted to 26,500 tons, and for international flights, it increased by 26 percent compared to the same period and amounted to 15,242 tons.

The number of flights from the airport in April 2024 increased by 12 percent compared to April 2023 and amounted to 21,350.

Meanwhile, the number of flights performed on domestic flights increased by five percent and equaled 14,735, and international flights increased by 30 percent and amounted to 6,615.

Passenger traffic in all airports in Türkiye in April this year amounted to 61.8 million people, and cargo turnover was 1.37 million.

To note, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye in 2023 was 214 million people, and cargo turnover was 4.2 million tons.
