(gazeta.kz) - Another HIV-infected child has been found in South Kazakhstan.
"The HIV has been diagnosed for 14-year old boy. It was revealed during tests in one of districts," - Natalia Babina, Chief Doctor of the AID centre, said yesterday at a meeting of the regional headquarter for combating HIV, reports Trend.
According to the AIDS centre, today there are 81 HIV cases among children in South Kazakhstan, eight of them died, one was adopted by US citizens.
Mrs, Babina said that 62,276 persons had been tested for HIV from 3 July 2006 including 32,006 pregnant women. 231 of 238 were tested, the other seven are outside of the region.
