A projectile fired from the Gaza Strip Tuesday morning injured a 14-year-old girl in a village close to the Israeli city of Ashkelon, the Israeli military said, DPA reported.
Four people were injured for shock after the projectile landed near a kindergarten
The projectile was fired hours after the Israel air force struck at the Hamas-ruled Strip, in response to increasing mortar and rocket attacks on Israeli towns and villages adjacent to the salient.
Two people were wounded in the air force attacks, which occurred late Monday night.
An Israeli military spokesman statement said the air force had hit four tunnels, three in the north of the Strip and one in the south, as well as a weapons-manufacturing facility.
According to the military spokesman, since the beginning of the year over 200 Grad missiles, makeshift rockets, and mortar shells have been fired form the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.
At least 13 of them have been fired this week, the military said.
