Indiana Jones to open at Cannes festival
( dpa ) - The new Indiana Jones movie is to open at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18 in its world debut, Variety reported Friday.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull stars Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBeouf and is the fourth in the swashbuckling series about the intrepid archaeologist/adventurer.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, it is the first Indiana Jones film in 19 years.
The report said that Cannes organizers have yet to confirm the screening, as they are still working on the lineup for the May 14-25 bash, but an official announcement should be forthcoming sometime in April once programmers get a look at the finished movie which Spielberg is still editing.
Spielberg last showed a movie at Cannes in 1982, when he premieres E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.
