On February 11, the Foreign Ministers of Belarus and the Federal Republic of Germany exchanged notes constituting the intergovernmental agreement on recuperation of Belarusian children in Germany. The exchange of notes took place as Sergei Martynov, the Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, who is in Berlin on an official visit, met with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry.
The negotiations highlighted a wide range of bilateral agenda items, relations between Belarus and the EU, regional and international policy. Sergei Martynov signed the Statute of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), its statutory documents deposited in Germany.
The Foreign Minister of Belarus visited Potsdam, the capital of the Federal State of Brandenburg. Sergei Martynov and Prime Minister of Brandenburg Matthias Platzeck discussed promising cooperation areas including economy, energy and culture.
Sergei Martynov presented his report "Belarus-EU dialogue: new prospects" at the German association for foreign policy.
