Turkish FM, U.S. Secretary of State discuss situation in Egypt

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Munich on Saturday, where he is attending the 47th Munich Security Conference, Anadolu Agency reported.

The two discussed the turmoil in Egypt and Turkey's fight against PKK terror.

Davutoglu who conveyed Turkey's opinions on the situation in Egypt to his U.S. counterpart, said Egyptian state bodies should not be harmed, any confrontation between the people and the Egyptian army should be avoided and assistance should be provided to Egypt for a quick transition of government.

Turkish Ambassador in Berlin Ahmet Acet also participated in the meeting between Davutoglu and Clinton.

Davutoglu will attend a panel discussion to be held on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference later on Saturday.
