Revenues of mobile operators grow in Kazakhstan

Telecommunications companies of Kazakhstan in January-September 2015 have earned 17 percent more than in the same period last year on access to the Internet, according to the Ranking.kz analytical service.

Revenues from mobile services have decreased by 12 percent.

Internet access has provided communications companies with revenues worth 144.4 billion tenge (276.1 tenge = $1), which is only 46.1 billion tenge less than the amount of revenues from mobile communications. At the end of the same period last year, the difference of figures was 91.8 billion tenge, and 5 years ago - 159.2 billion tenge.

Subscribers in Almaty provide the largest increase in Internet access revenues to companies - 11.6 billion tenge, or 17 percent. During the first 9 months, Almaty earned 79.8 billion tenge from this service, which accounts for 55.2 percent of the market segment.

Astana ranks second in terms of highest growth, where in January-September telecom operators earned on the Internet access by 5 billion tenge (29 percent) more than in the same period of 2014. A total of 15.3 percent of segment of the market accounts for Astana.

Almaty region wrap ups the TOP 3, where telecom companies received 0.8 billion tenge (23 percent) more revenues from Internet access. Customers of telecom operators in the Almaty region provide for only 3 percent of the market segment.
