The meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan - Edward Nalbandian, Sergei Lavrov and Elmar Mammadyarov is scheduled for January 24 in Moscow, Armenian Foreign Minister told media, Novosti-Armenia agency reported.
"The meeting initiated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is scheduled for January 24 in Moscow," Nalbandian said.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also confirmed the date of the trilateral meeting, scheduled for January 24 in Moscow, Elkhan Polukhov, official representative of the Azerbaijani foreign ministry told Trend.
"Another meeting is likely to be held with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen in early February," Armenian Foreign Minister was quoted by "Novosti-Armenia" agency as saying.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference on Thursday that the meeting of ministers of three countries will be held in January. He did not specify the date of the meeting.
The foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia met in Moscow last November. They discussed the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
