The WHO will provide Georgia with 400,000 swine flu vaccine doses to vaccinate high-risk groups.
Pregnant women, persons with weak immune systems and chronic diseases, as well as employees who may be in direct contact with infected individuals, are among these risk groups, the Georgian National Center for Disease Control told Trend .
So far, Georgia has reported 1,205 laboratory-confirmed infections of the swine flu. Nineteen have died in the country as a result of complications and five are in serious condition in hospitals.
The influenza outbreak has started to decline, but experts warn that a new wave of a revitalized virus is expected in late February.
