Turkey's prosecutor general and his five deputies have been dismissed, High Council of Judges and Prosecutors said, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported on Jan. 16.

Twenty people have been dismissed or downgraded at the Turkish prosecutor's office, the high council said.

On January 8, Turkish government dismissed the chiefs of police departments of 16 provinces. The heads of police departments of Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and Diyarbakir were among those dismissed.
