Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 September/ Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ A total of 58 corruption related criminal cases have been submitted to courts in 2008, Kamran Aliyev, head of Counter Corruption Department under Prosecutor General's Office said to Trend .
At present, Counter Corruption Department examines 27 criminal suits. These suits have been filed over misuse of authorities, bribery and appropriation, Aliyev said.
The corruption facts are especially wide spread in municipal councils and private sector. There are such facts also in Ministry of Education and Ministry of Taxes and higher schools, he said.
Counter Corruption Department under Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan founded at the presidential decree of 3 March 2004 is specialized at conducting preliminary investigation into corruption related crimes.
