President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted today the credentials of newly appointed Swedish ambassador Mikael Eriksson.
President Aliyev had a talk with the ambassador, during which he described the level of political relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden as "good". The Head of State noted the two countries were closely cooperating within the Eastern Partnership program.
The President also underscored the importance of bilateral cooperation from the point of view of Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation. He noted his country was interested in Swedish companies` participation in various spheres of the Azerbaijani economy. President Aliyev noted good potential existed to develop relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden even more.
Eriksson, in turn, said his country was interested in expansion of relationship with Azerbaijan. He recalled a last week's visit of delegation of Swedish businessmen to Azerbaijan.
The diplomat noted necessary actions are in place to develop bilateral cooperation in various spheres.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has also accepted credentials of Croatian ambassador Drazen Hrastic today.
During the conversation, President of Azerbaijan underlined Croatia-Azerbaijan relationship is developing successfully. The Head of State highlighted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits for expansion of bilateral ties.
The Head of State noted Azerbaijan is keen on developing bilateral ties in all fields. The Azerbaijani leader found the significance of mutual investments to scale up economic cooperation. The Head of State expressed hope for development of bilateral ties even more in the future.
Hrastic pointed out Azerbaijan is a friendly and important nation for Croatia. He extended greetings from Croatian President Ivo Josipović to the Azerbaijani leader. The diplomat said he would spare no efforts to deepen Croatia-Azerbaijan relations during his tenure.
The Head of State asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to his Croatian counterpart.
