Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan's national holiday - Republic Day.
"Azerbaijan has achieved notable results in the promotion of the socio-economic development and welfare of citizens. Election of the republic non-permanent member of UN Security Council for 2012-2013 is yet another confirmation of the growth of its prestige in the international arena," - says the message of the President of the Russian Federation.
It provides an appreciation of the positive dynamics of Russian-Azerbaijani relations, developing on the basis of friendship and mutual sympathy and trust.
"We are committed to further expansion of bilateral cooperation, to content our strategic partnership with new and promising projects in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
I am convinced that an active political dialogue, the progressive expansion of the range of mutually beneficial relations, deepening cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of our countries, problems of maintaining stability and security in the Caucasus," the message says.
Vladimir Putin wished Ilham Aliyev health and well-being, and the citizens of Azerbaijan - peace and prosperity.
