Safarov/ Berti Fogts has huge working experience and he will be able to help the national team of Azerbaijan, the President of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) Rovnag Abdullayev said at the meeting of the AFFA Executive Committee's meeting.
According to Abdullayev, he was supporting the candidacy of the famous German specialist from the very beginning. "We kept that in secret for a time, because he had obligations to the Nigerian Football Federation. But now nothing will prevent Fogts from heading the national team of Azerbaijan," Abdullayev said.
He stressed that a 2-year contract must be signed with Fogts to enable him to work with the team during the next selection round of the World Championship-2010.
Earlier the AFFA Executive Committee unanimously supported Fogts's candidacy.
