The Azerbaijani Khazar-Lankaran club's key forward Ivan Chvetkov may play for Neftchi.
Chvetkov is orginally from Bulgaria.
"If Chvetkov leaves Khazar-Lankaran, then we will negotiate with him," Neftchi Vice President Ilgar Guluzade told Trend on Jan. 28.
Chvetkov began playing for Khazar-Lankaran in 2008.
Chvetkov is the top goal scorer in the Azerbaijani Premier League with 10 goals.
He did not attend Khazar-Lankaran's training camp in Antalya, Turkey on Jan. 27.
Chvetkov did not receive his salary for three months. This was likely the reason for his absence.
Inter also hopes to pick up Chvetkov.
Chvetkov's contract with Khazar-Lankaran will expire in 2010.
Guluzade said they have not discussed the issue yet with Chvetkov.
