Young teachers can receive mortgage loans, Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov told Trend today.
"Mortgage loans can be granted to young teachers under a new program to encourage young teachers and to resolve problems with teachers in rural schools," he said.
Mardanov said mortgage loans are an interesting tool for attracting teachers to rural schools.
The Cabinet of Ministers decided on April 14 to facilitate mortgage loans for young teachers to help increase the influx of young professionals and graduates to rural areas. Individuals will receive a stipend of 40 manat per month in addition to their salary for signing a three-year contract.
Anyone who will start career in secondary education institutions at a distance of more than 20 kilometers from the regional center will get 70 manat more within three years.
Moreover, one-time assistance is envisaged to cover travel and transportation expenses, as well as transportation of equipment and improvement of teachers' terms.
