BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Seven Azerbaijani citizens repatriated from Iraq and Syria to their homeland have been placed in a social service institution of the State Agency for Public Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Trend reports citing the ministry.
According to the Agency, these persons were immediately provided with necessary medical aid. In the next stage, social workers and psychologists of the agency would assess the socio-psychological state of repatriated women and children.
In accordance with the results of the assessment, individual plans will be developed to provide each returnee with the necessary social rehabilitation services. The process of social rehabilitation will continue after the transfer of repatriates to their families. These services are conducted in cooperation with other relevant bodies.
Since August 2018, the phased repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq and Syria has been carried out. The Agency's specialists have developed a program for social reintegration and rehabilitation for each repatriated citizen. Social work with these people, including psychological counseling and educational activities, is still underway.
