During the eight months of 2017, the Turkish province of Antalya was visited by 3.376 million Russian tourists, said the provincial governorship in its message.
According to the message, this figure has become a record after the November 2015 events, which led to a crisis in relations between the two countries.
“In recent years, there has also been a significant increase in the number of Russian citizens acquiring property in Turkey. Meanwhile, Russian citizens prefer to buy real estate exactly in Antalya, where tourism is actively developing,” says the message.
Earlier, the Mediterranean Tourist Hoteliers Association (AKTOB) said in a message that the number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey’s resort province of Antalya in August 2017 increased by 6 percent as compared to the same month of 2016.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), 120,198 real estate objects were sold in Turkey in August 2017.
