The ceremony of signing an action plan between the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee and the International Association of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Customs and Logistics was held in Baku May 4.
The document was signed by Chairman of the State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev and President of the International Association of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Customs and Logistics Antonio Llobet de Pablo.
Speaking with reporters, Mehdiyev stressed that the action plan will allow implementing a system of authorized economic operators in Azerbaijan.
"As you know, the activity of AEO Customs and Logistics is aimed at the development of authorized economic operators in various countries and the improvement of transit and logistics services,” he said.
“The action plan signed today is aimed at increasing the speed of trade between entrepreneurs,” Mehdiyev said. “According to the plan, AEO will help us in ensuring logistics and increasing human resources. I think that this cooperation will bring great benefit to Azerbaijani entrepreneurs."
The international conference of the International Association of AEO Customs and Logistics completed in Baku on May 4. As many as 150 representatives of 25 countries took part in the conference.
Such issues as the Silk Road prospects, secure business environment and its key elements, creation of a secure supply chain, prospects for border security as part of the Silk Road, intermodal transportations and logistics prospects as part of the corridor were discussed at the conference.
As part of the conference, an annual assembly of the International Association of AEO Customs and Logistics and a seminar on blockchain technology were also held.
