The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the past 9 months of 2020 made up nearly $416 million, declining by $52.5 million year on year, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the bulletin, during the reporting period the value of imports from Georgia to Azerbaijan edged down from $53.1 million to $50.4 million year on year, and the share of Georgia in the total import of Azerbaijan made up 0.64 percent of the total volume against 0.51 percent in the same period of 2019.
Meanwhile, the value of export of Azerbaijani products to Georgia amounted to $365.5 million, while a year earlier this figure was $415.4 million. As a result, the country’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export grew from 2.79 to 3.46 percent.
Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between the two countries for the reporting period remained positive, equaling to $315.3 million.
From January through September 2020, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up $18.4 billion, which is 27.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
The balance of the country’s annualized foreign trade turnover for the reporting period, despite decrease by 38.6 percent, remained positive, equaling to over $2.7 million.
