The number of small businesses and microfirms created in Uzbekistan from January through March 20121 amounted to 26,812, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, the largest share of newly created small enterprises and microfirms by type of economic activity during the reporting period fell on trade – 9,093 units or 33.9 percent.
At the same time, the number of newly created small enterprises and microfirms in the industrial sector amounted to 5,602 units or 20.9 percent, agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 4,540 units or 16.9 percent and construction – 1,847 units or 6.9 percent.
Earlier it was reported that the number of enterprises and organizations with foreign capital registered in the country as of May 1 reached 13,000, of which 12,500 are currently operating.
It is noted that the number of operating enterprises with foreign capital increased by 1,557 compared to the same period last year.
In the structure of countries, the largest number of enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan for 4M2021 fell on Russia – 2,199 enterprises. It is followed by China – 1,867, Turkey – 1,714, Kazakhstan – 991 and South Korea – 894 enterprises.
At the same time, the largest number of newly established enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan for the reporting period fell on Turkey, amounting to 164 enterprises. Some 119 newly established enterprises with foreign capital were registered in Uzbekistan in 4M2021, 94 enterprises – in China, 78 – in Kazakhstan and 28 – in South Korea.
