Azerbaijan State Customs Committee, CBIC to Establish Council on Entrepreneurs’ Problems Settlement

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC) and the Caspian Business Integration Club (CBIC) have agreed upon establishing a Council on Settlement of Entrepreneurs' Problems that are related to custom matters, the President of the CBIC, Telman Aliyev, said on 1 June during the meeting of the CBIC members with the Chairman of the SCC, Aydin Aliyev. According to CBIC's President, the SCC has accepted the proposal and the Council will serve as a bridge linking entrepreneurs and custom agencies. The Council will also prevent resolving disputable issues by means of courts.

The head of the SCC informed the attendees of the problems and measures taken in the connection of the employees of custom agencies who prevent entrepreneurs' activities.

In 1995-2007, some 1,700 employees of custom agencies were discharged from office mainly due to breaches. Within twelve years, 2,300 customs employees were made answerable in accordance with the administrative and criminal order," Aliyev said.

The head of the SCC voiced his wish to maintain cooperation with entrepreneurs.
