Azerbaijan, Baku, May 8 / Trend /
In January-April 2009, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) and foreign companies, which explore the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) offshore field and Shah Deniz field, delivered over than 4.1 billion cubic metre of gas to Azerbaijan, compared to 3.5 billion cubic metre last year.
Out of the total volume of gas delivered to Azerbaijan some 2.3 billion accounted for SOCAR and the rest 1.8 billion for ACG and Shah Deniz fields.
Over 1 billion cubic metre of gas was delivered to Azerbaijan in April, out of which about 572 million cubic metre accounted for SOCAR. The rest 438,000 cubic metre accounted for fields which are produced by foreign companies.
Associated gas, which is produced within the framework of ACG, is transferred to SOCAR free of charge.
This year SOCAR intends to deliver 7 billion cubic metre of gas to Azerbaijan from fields that company is producing independently, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier.
The Azeri Light is produced from ACG, which is exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, including Associated gas.
The daily production volume from Shah Deniz is 20-24 million cubic metre of gas. This year a total of 9 billion cubic metre of gas is planning to produce from the field. These volume will be sold to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
