The ninth meeting of the Joint U.S. Kazakhstan Energy Partnership Commission will take place on October 15-16 in Washington, Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.
"The parties will define further cooperation directions in four fields: nuclear industry and nonproliferation issues; hydrocarbon energy; electric energy; renewable sources of energy and energy conservation," the report stated.
The event will take place under the chairmanship of Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Minbayev and U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman.
The director of Kazakhstan's Atomic Energy Agency Timur Jantikin, the representatives of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Ministry of Environment Protection, Customs Control Committee of Finance Ministry, Agency on Regulation of Natural Monopolies, 'Kazmunaigas', 'Kaztransgas', 'Kazmortransflot', Institute of Nuclear Physics and Institute of Nuclear Energy of Kazakh National Nuclear Centre are members of Kazakh delegation.
The parties are planning to sign U.S. Kazakh joint action plan on realization of energy partnership in mentioned fields in 2012-2013 according to results of the ninth meeting.
Bilateral meeting of Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Minbayev with high ranking representatives of U.S. President Administration for consultations on energy field, as well as meetings with American businessmen within American Kazakh Business Association are planned in the framework of the visit.
