BP delivers half billion cubic meters of accompanying gas to SOCAR in Q1

In the first quarter of 2014, British BP, which is the operator of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, delivered 0.6 billion cubic meters of accompanying gas to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), BP's report for Q1, 2014 said.

The accompanying gas is delivered to SOCAR free of charge within the framework of development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields' block.

The average daily volume of accompanying gas transferred to SOCAR in the first quarter amounted to 6.2 million cubic meters, the report said.

In 2013, British BP transferred to SOCAR 2,19 billion cubic meters of gas compared to 3.4 billion cubic meters in 2012.

The contract on the ACG full field development was signed in 1994. Oil reserves at the ACG are estimated about 1 billion tonnes.

The shares in the contract for development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields is distributed as follows: BP (operator in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli) - 35.78 percent, Chevron - 11,27 percent, Inpex - 10,96 percent, AzACG - 11,65 percent, Statoil - 8,56 percent, Exxon - 8 percent, TPAO - 6.75 percent, Itochu - 4,3 percent and ONGC - 2,72 percent.
