Uzbekistan Airports reduces rates for service of foreign airlines

Uzbekistan Airports company has announced a reduction in ground handling rates for foreign airlines' aircraft, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan Airports.

Decision is aimed at improving the competitiveness of the country's airports in the international market of aviation services, meeting the demand from the population and increasing the flow of foreign tourists to Uzbekistan, the message said.

In particular, from March 1, 2020, in all regional airports the rate for service of arriving passengers is abolished and the rate for cargo handling for cargo flights of foreign airlines is reduced.

At the same time, in order to improve the quality of service for business class passengers of foreign airlines, the cost of services at the Business Lounge of Tashkent International Airport has been reduced.

"Reduction of expenses of foreign airlines for flight servicing services at the airports of the republic is aimed at reducing the cost of air tickets for the population of the country and foreign tourists; in addition, the reduction of tariffs for cargo handling will contribute to further development of export potential of the country", noted Uzbekistan Airports.

Reorganization of Uzbekiston Havo Yollari was carried out in the end of 2019, in accordance with the Decree of the president of Uzbekistan On measures to radically improve the civil aviation of Uzbekistan.

In particular, Uzbekistan Airways, Uzbekistan Airports and Uzbekistan Helicopters JSC were established.

From April this year, Uzbekistan Airways will start operating regular flights to Munich.

Earlier, it was reported that it is planned to increase the number of visa-free countries with Uzbekistan. This is reflected in the draft state program for 2020.

In addition, the document instructed to approve a set of measures to reduce the cost of servicing aircraft of foreign airlines at domestic airports by 30-50 percent, to optimize rates and tariffs for passenger and cargo transportation.

Today, the airline's crafts regularly fly to more than 60 destinations in Europe, Asia and America, and perform charter flights to all continents. In the past two years alone, new destinations have been developed to Mumbai, Vladivostok, Jakarta and Tbilisi, and regular flights to Jeddah have been established.
