Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev ordered the Kazakh ruling party and the ruling institutions of the country to ensure honest, fair and transparent elections to the Majilis (lower chamber of parliament), RIA- Novosti reported.

"We held such [presidential] elections in April. The elections were honest, legitimate and transparent - we have to focus on such kind of work," Nazarbayev said at the meeting of the ruling party Nur Otan on Friday.

According to Nazarbayev, the future Kazakh Parliament will be at least bipartisan.

The elections to Majilis in Kazakhstan will be held on January 15. Eight political parties will compete for seats in the Majilis. Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission registered 386 candidates for members of the Majilis. Four people claim at one MP mandate.
