Kazakhstan reveals volume of purchases of goods, services by subsoil users in 2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. The total volume of purchases of goods, works, and services by subsoil users in the energy sector of Kazakhstan (hydrocarbons and uranium) amounted to 6.68 trillion tenge (about $15.1 billion) in 2023, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Energy.

According to the Ministry, the share of Kazakhstan's goods and services in these purchases amounted to 4.06 trillion tenge (about $9.2 billion), or 61 percent of total purchases.

Thus, in 2023, the total volume of goods purchased was 1.02 trillion tenge (about $2.3 billion), including Kazakhstani content - 334.61 billion tenge (about $757 million), or 32.86 percent.

At the same time, the total volume of procurement of works amounted to 2.99 trillion tenge (about $6.7 billion), including local content - 2.34 trillion tenge (about $5.3 billion), or 78.38 percent.

In addition, the total volume of services purchased was 2.67 trillion tenge (about $6 billion), including Kazakh content – 1.39 trillion tenge (about $3.1 billion), or 51.87 percent.

As the Ministry noted, the country is constantly working to support local manufacturers of goods and suppliers of work (services). Thus, over the past five years, the level of Kazakhstani content among subsoil users in the energy sector has increased by 18 percent.
