The production of a special sort of yarn ‘compact-panier’ has been launched for the first time in the country at a new textile complex, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening of a large textile complex built in the Kaakhki district of the Ahal region.
According to the information, the new complex with a full production cycle is designed to process 5,000 tons of fine-staple cotton per year with an output of more than 3,600 tons of yarn.
It is reported that technological lines for the production of 12 million square meters of fabrics per year have been established here, and sewing workshops will issue ready-made products from them.
It is noted that all equipment installed at the complex was supplied by the world's leading manufacturers. The total cost of the project is $147.8 million.
In addition, for the first time in the country, the production of a special sort of yarn ‘compact-panier’ has been launched at this complex, which has installations for the production of blended yarns.
Another similar complex, worth $151.8 million, is now being completed in another district of Akhal - Babadaykhan. Its capacity amounts to 3,300 tons of yarn, 20 million square meters of fabrics and 3.5 million garments.
Earlier it was reported that Turkmenistan plans to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of more than 30 projects in the textile industry.
Due to these investments, by 2025, the production of commercial products in Turkmenistan is expected to increase by 1.2 times. It is noted that the implementation of the planned measures will allow the textile industry of Turkmenistan to carry out constant technical and technological re-equipment of existing and the creation of new high-tech industries.
The main investments will be directed not only to the expansion of existing capacities but also to the creation of more than 10 new production facilities on the basis of existing enterprises using modern technologies for the production of environmentally friendly products.
In general, over the years of the independence of Turkmenistan, about $2 billion have been invested in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing textile enterprises.
