The Iranian President said that Tehran has devised a new package of proposals for the "5+1" countries.

"We are prepared to hold discussions with the West, to show respect and fairness," the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, said at a news conference on Sept 7, which was aired live on TV channel IRINN.

Ahmedinejad said that the new proposals concern the "recognition and solution of international problems". He said that Iran is prepared for discussions with the "5+1" countries to make positive changes in international principles.

Regarding the framework of the discussions with the UN Security Council permanent members (5+1 countries), Ahmedinejad said that they have especially prepared for discussions on the potential for all countries to use nuclear energy peacefully, to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, as well as to disarm the countries from nuclear weapons.

So far, the "5+1" countries have submitted a package of proposals to Iran twice. The West has its doubts on the Iranian nuclear program. Barack Obama has given Iran a chance to launch discussions with the the "5+1" countries by late September and to make its nuclear program, transparent, otherwise new economic-political sanctions will be imposed on the country.

Ahmedinejad said that issuing an ultimatum to Iran contradicts principles of "respect and fairness". He said that Tehran has devised the new proposals to other countries, besides the "5+1" countries.

The UN Security Council has issued 5 resolutions and imposed 3 sanctions to stop the Iranian nuclear program.

Ahmedinejad said that the nuclear program is the Iranian people's right and this program will not be cancelled.
