A blast on the Hashimi Nijad gas pipeline in northeast Iran killed four people and injured 16 on Saturday, the Ilna news agency reported.
The blast took place on the pipeline near the city of Mashad in the province of Khorasan-Razavi. The explosion was caused by an excavator working close to the pipeline, the head of the National gas Company of Iran, Ali Reza Garibi, said.
